Florabama-mi

With Catmandu in the care of our good friends Les & Tommy we've embarked on two land trips.  A short one to visit Sue & Don Throw at their rental condo in Orange Beach, AL.  There we were cultured in the ways of Florabama.  Florabama is a 'honky-tonk' type bar famous for the diversity of musicians, famous and not, that have played there.  Our timing was super as they were hosting a sing-songwriter festival.  Sitting down to our first beer I'm saying "I know this guy."  It was Brent Burns (top 10,000 hit - If It's Snowbird Season Why Can't We Shoot'Em?)!!  I got a signed CD - Wow!!

The next day we toured the Pensacola Navel Air Museum.  An awesome display of historical air power!  While there we took a tour guided by a Vietnam fighter pilot and saw "Hubble" in the iMax theater.  In the evening we went to an Italian restaurant and guess who was playing...Brent Burns!

Inside joke!

On our way back to Catmandu we stopped and toured the Battleship Alabama and Submarine Drum.  Cannot imagine how it felt being on that ship in war.  So close to Veterans Day I am humble at the service and sacrifice others have made so I can walk free...Thank You...doesn't seem to say enough.

We are currently back in Michigan celebrating Thanksgiving.  Chris's sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Tom are hosting twelve of us!  I am so excited to see all the kids and to spend time with the new grandson!!  I have so much to be thankful for and much of it will be under this roof.

Wishing you all a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday!!
