A Long and a Short

Yesterday we made the long trek from Leland to Manistee and today a short one down to Ludington.

Great motor-sail from Leland.  Much of it along the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes.  Quite a view.

Manistee is a great little marina and town.  We tied up to the wall adjacent the docks just short of the bridge.

We then went in search for the Dempsy House.  Can you name the relative of Chris's that owned the house??  Beautiful 1894 home with 23,958 sqft of living space including 10 bedrooms and six and a half baths!  And it's for SALE!!  Only $375K!!!  After a nice dinner at the Boathouse we watched the USA women take gold and silver in volleyball at the marina lounge.  Who-who!!

As I type this we are in a race to Ludington.  Us against a gale storm!!  We have a head start but the competitor looks ominous.  Let you know how it turns out.

Ok, we made it no problem.  Most of the storms went south of us.  Everyone we talked to from Midland south to Northville said they had rain all day.  It looked bad all day but we had no rain!!

We went on a walk through the Ludington Waterfront Sculptures Park.  Look at what we happened on...a sculture donated by Schoenherr's.  I don't know who these people are...they are not in my genealogy?

Well we are all settled in for the night and looking forward to gale winds and Stacey, Cindy and Tom's visit tomorrow.
